Jessie Parks

January 30, 1947 — October 10, 2014

Waynesville, Jessie Messer Green Parks, age 67, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014 at The Homestead. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Jake and Sylvannia Franklin Messer. Jessie delivered papers for the Mountaineer for 25 years. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, and especially her grandchildren. She attended Crabtree and Liberty Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 5 years, David Parks; two daughters, Mary Sue Green Queen (Robert, Jr.) and Betty Lou Green Trammell (Joe); two brothers, Jack and Dan Messer; four grandchildren, James and Trey Green, Barney Trammel and Tammy Trammel (David McCowan) and three great-grandchildren, Ricky Escalona, Kelly Sue McCowan and Austin Green. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Parker Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
