Jesus Rafael Risquez Thielen, III

Dr. Jesus Rafael Risquez Thielen, III, 72, of Waynesville passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at Mission Hospital.

Born in Berkley, CA, Jesus was raised and lived most of his life in Venezuela.  He was the son of the late, Jesus Rafael Risquez Iribarren and Olga Thielen de Risquez.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Alfredo Risquez.

He is survived by his children, Mariana Risquez, Jesus Rafael Risquez, Daniela Margarita Risquez, Gabriel Augusto Risquez and Miguel Ignacio Risquez; siblings, Carmen Elena Risquez, Diana Risquez, Jorge Risquez and Maria Angelica Risquez and five grandchildren, Jose Ignacio Zapata Risquez, Thomas Ricardo Risquez, Margarita Risquez, Rocio Risquez and Celeste Risquez.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2023 in the Wells Chapel of Faith, 1 Chapel of Faith Drive, Candler.  Green burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery, Asheville.
