Canton – Jewell Goodwin Ford, 92, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.
Jewell was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Dewey and Nellie Warren Goodwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Jennings Ralph Ford, who died in 1991. Jewell retired from American Enka/BASF Corporation with 28 years of service and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Canton.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Ford (Ann) of Candler and Gary Ford (Jennie) of Canton; one brother, Bruce Goodwin of Canton; one granddaughter, Shannon Hemker (Kyle) of Charlotte; and four step-grandchildren, Windsor and Russell Wagner of Canton, Tess and Eli Mauck of Robbinsville, Nick Cordevant and Tom Palen, both of Canton.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2020 at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road with the Reverend Gordon Pike and Reverend Clay J. Morgan officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Canton, 29 Newfound Street, Canton, NC 28716.
