Maggie Valley, Jimmie Bradley Leatherwood, age 87, formerly of Johnson Branch, has gone on to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 19, 2013. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mettie Setzer Bradley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Leatherwood, who died on May 21, 2013; two sisters, Mary Franklin and Lucille Mullica; and two brothers, Jack and Clyde Bradley. Jimmie loved spending time with her grandchildren and also enjoyed cooking for her family and gardening. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Maggie Valley. She is survived by three sons, Tom Leatherwood and his wife, Betty and Charles Leatherwood and his wife, Brenda, of Maggie Valley and Bob Leatherwood and his wife, Lisa, of Waynesville; two brothers, Cordell and Bob Bradley, of Waynesville; six grandchildren; Amy Carver (Justin), Lisa Carrington (Severo), David Leatherwood (Amanda), and Tessa, Zoë, and Ally Leatherwood; and three great-grandchildren, Kolbie Carrington, and Jake and Josie Carver. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Brian Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be David Leatherwood, Justin Carver, James Bradley, Hunter Plemmons, Bill Bradley, and Bill Schulhofer. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
