Waynesville, Jimmie Wayne Parrish, age 57, of 1250 Joe Carver Road, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 11, 2008 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Virginia, he had resided in Charleston, SC, before moving to Haywood County 19 years ago. He was the son of the late Willie Rufus and Thelma Clarey Parrish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Jackson and Beulah Lee Harvey and two brothers, Edward and Walter B. Pulley. He was employed by Powell Industries for the past year and a half and was formerly a self-employed truck driver. Jimmie always kept busy doing projects for family, neighbors, and friends. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Francis Carver Parrish; one daughter, Amanda Parrish of Waynesville; two sons, Christopher Parrish and his wife, Karen, of Waynesville and J.R. Parrish, of the home; one stepson, Jeffrey Shuford of Badin, NC; four sisters, Lucille Rawlings and her husband, Reggie, of South Hill, VA, Josephine Clarey of Broadnax, VA, Jeannette Waits and her husband, Perry, of Monroe, GA, and Cornelia Kaylor of Maggie Valley; two brothers, James Pulley and his wife, Shirley, of Crestwood, KY and William Parrish and his wife, Janice, of Mooresville, NC; and two grandchildren, Raven and Dakota Terry. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2007 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Bobby Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home, and at other times, at the residence.
