Jimmie "Jim" Wood

Allens Creek Community,  Jimmie Joe Wood, age 85, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020 at his residence.

A native of Jackson County and a life-time resident of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Bragge and Lula Kilby Wood.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Hannah Mae Wood, who died in 2001; three sisters, Hester Rider, Dallas Norman and Ester Massey; and four brothers, Dexter, Chester, Clyde and Lester Wood.  Jim worked at the Allens Creek Rock Crusher for 20 years and with the Haywood County School System as a Plumber for 13 years.  He attended Rocky Branch Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Vicky Walgren (Alvin), of Nebraska; son, Jerry Wood (Belinda), of Waynesville; sister, Shelby Jean Hannah, of Waynesville; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

No funeral services are planned.

The care of Mr. Wood has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes.
