Jimmy Messer

January 1, 1954 — December 11, 2003

Waynesville-Jimmy Dale Messer, age 49, of 267 Charles Street, Clyde, died Thursday, December 11, 2003 at his residence.

He was a native of Haywood County. He was preceded in death by his father, Junior Clark Messer; a sister, Barbara Messer; a brother, Clark Wayne Messer; and a special nephew, Tony Price. He was a taxi driver, a member of Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church, and loved hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Lillian and James Maynor of Balsam; a daughter, Jenny Price and her husband, Greg, of Morganton; four sisters, Vickie Bradley of Sylva, Gail Messer of Statesville, Leona Miller and Theresa Robbinette, both of Teays, West Virginia; five brothers, Eddie Maynor of Balsam, Terry ''Buck'' Messer of Statesville, and Jimmy, Bobby, and Roger Messer, all of West Virginia; three grandchildren; a special cousin ''sister by heart,'' Diane Hall; an aunt and uncle, Willamae and Carol Queen of Canton; 10 nieces; 12 nephews; 3 great nieces; and 4 great nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2003 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Ray McCall and Reverend Jimmy Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Fines Creek Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 262 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
