Jimmy West

Jimmy D. "Fur Belly" West, age 65, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Varder O. and Beatrice Wines West. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Shuler, who died in 2001 and a sister, Nancy Gaddy. Jimmy retired from BASF with 34 years of service and was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. He loved sports and camping. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Doris Best West; one daughter, Diane Perez of Waynesville; one step-son, Marty Clark and his wife, Marianne, of Bloomington, Indiana; a brother, David O. West and his wife, Lorene, of Canton; two granddaughters, Ashley and Brittany; one niece, Tracy Gaddy Mann; a nephew, Charlie Gaddy; and several great nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held. Wells Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of the arrangements.
