Waynesville, J.L. Frady, Jr., of Allens Creek Road, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at The Homestead. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Joseph Liner Frady, Sr. and Mary Forga Frady. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hettie Jones Frady, who died in 2008; three sisters, Fay Sisk, Betty Lou Frady, Mary Frances "Polly" Haney; a half-sister, Willie Mae Howell; one brother, Everett Frady; and a half-brother, Logan Frady. He was a US Army veteran having served in the European Theater of World War II. He is survived by two sister-in-laws, Jessie Davis and her husband, Guy and Margie Frady all of Waynesville; a brother in-law, Cecil Jones of Waynesville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Stockman and Reverend Davis Hooper officiating. Burial will follow at Buchanan Cemetery with graveside military rites. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Rathbone, Dick Chambers, Jerry Pace, Joel Chambers, Mike Norman and Hunter Chambers. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Grandview Baptist Church, which he attended, 1562 Allens Creek Road, Waynesville, NC 28786.
