Joann Sales

JoAnn Blaylock Sales, age 76, died on Sunday, October 16, 2011, at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late John Pearson and Mary Naomi Burnette Blaylock. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Joe Howard Sales, daughter, Carol Elaine Sales, brothers, Thomas Glenn and Johnny Blalock; sisters, Annetta Garnes, Jennie Thompson, Mable Cochran, Lillian Hovey, Billie Thompson, and her twin sister, Joyce Frizzell; four nephews; and two nieces. She is survived by a son, John D. Sales and his wife, Shannon, of Clyde; grandchildren, Charles and Jessica Taylor of Fletcher, Nakia and Patrick Ensley of Maggie Valley, Kellie and Sean Brooks of Canton, and Kevin and Nikola Sales of Anchorage, AK; great-grandchildren, Makala and Blake Taylor, Anna, Emma, and Cora Ensley, Alana and Zane Brooks, and Ira and Joseph Chase Sales; six sisters, Bonnie Thompson, Bernice and Joe Stamey, Christine Garner, Margaret Blaylock, Judy and Junius Mashburn, and Cheryl and Max Sanford; and 36 nieces and nephews, including Regina Smith, who wonderfully cared for JoAnn for many months. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Perry Brindley and Reverend J. D. Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
