Joanna Harrison

Joanna Moore Harrison, age 82, of Canton passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Mission Hospitals, St. Joseph Campus. She was the daughter of the late Glenn and Alice Ford Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Harrison and a daughter, Vicki Harrison Kidd-Jones. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and Bobby "Snake" Moore. Joanna retired from Enka Credit Union and was a member of Canton First Baptist Church. She loved watching birds, planting flowers, and spending time with her two special pets "Myown" and "Toto". Joanna is survived by a son, Carey Harrison and his wife, Jennie, of Candler; daughters, Heather Harrison Mathews and her husband, Mike, of Canton and Hope Harrison Andrews of Asheville; grandchildren, Matthew Kidd, Jennifer Rollins, Heath Harrison, Chad Harrison, Courtney Scott, Logan Mathews, and Tate Andrews; sisters, Loucille Cooper, Patsey Holcombe, and Barbara Moore Stamey; and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services with the Reverend Dr. Jack Sammons officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Box 854, Waynesville, NC 28786 or to the American Cancer Society, 90 Stiles Road, Canton, NC 28716.
