Joanne Greer

"1955-2015" Waynesville, Joanne Louise Greer, age 60, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at The Homestead. A native of Westfield, New Jersey she was a daughter of Edward Greer and the late Kathleen Cotter Greer. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Greer Lee, who died in 2010 and a brother, Edward Greer, who died in 1973. She had lived most of her life in Florida but had resided in Haywood County since 1988. Joanne was a member of St. John's the Evangelical Catholic Church where she valued her relationship with her priest, Father Larry LoManoco. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, but her heart belonged to her family. In addition to her father, she is survived by her wife, Stephanie Greer; step-mother, Lois Greer; two sisters, Susan Strockbine (Rocky) of Sunrise, Florida and Valerie Greer of Waynesville; two sisters-in-law, Eileen Greer of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Nancy Dickey of Waynesville; several nieces and nephews, Jennifer Farmer, Eric Dickey (Cheyenne), Melissa Disque (Bill Zeigler), Lisa Coleman (Eric), Sandy Disque Allen (Phil), Phillip Disque and his companion , Christina, Jamal Greer and his fiancé, Sharion, and Edward Greer (Amy); and great-nieces and great-nephews, Jaxson and Olivia Coleman, Robbie Allen, Charlotte and Cody Greer. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2015 at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
