Joe Farmer

Waynesville, Joe Wilburn Farmer, age 73, formerly of Indian Trail Loop, died on Friday, March 5, 2010 at Autumn Care of Waynesville. He was a native of Haywood County, and the son of the late Moody Onville and Eleanor McCracken Farmer. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Reagan Farmer, who died in 1996. He was a Master Gun builder specializing in muzzleloaders. Joe enjoyed gardening and music. He is survived by four stepsons, Steve Carver and his wife, Margie, Freddie Carver, and Jackie Carver, all of Waynesville and Johnny Carver, of Mossy Rock, Washington; two stepdaughters, Angie Arrington and her husband, Joel, and Sherri Rogers and her husband, Randy, all of Waynesville; two brothers, Johnny Mack Farmer of Sacramento, California, and Jerry Farmer of Waynesville; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. At Mr. Farmer's request, no services will be held. Burial will be held at Green Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721 or Autumn Care Activities Fund, P.O. Box 330, Waynesville, NC 28786.
