Joe Hannah

Joe Hannah, age 78, died Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Canton Christian Convalescent Center. A native of Macon County, he was a son of the late Henry and Willie Green Hannah. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ollivee Carver Hannah, who died in 2003. He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by two sons, Gary Hannah and his wife, Donna, and Shane Hannah, all of Candler; four daughters, Diane Stamey and her husband, Pete, Kathy Howell and her husband, Ron, Nancy Stamey and her husband, David, all of Candler, and Shelly Syfrett and her husband, Drew, of Statensburg; one sister, Evelyn Smith of Clyde; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Ridgeway Baptist Church with Reverend Jack W. Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
