Joel Brandt

Waynesville-Joel J. Brandt, age 16, of 150 Sorghum Drive, passed way on Tuesday, October 25, 2005. A native of Deltona, Florida, he had lived in Haywood County for the last six years. He was a sophomore at Tuscola High School and was employed at Burger King. He enjoyed skateboarding, basketball, fishing and shooting clays. He also loved music and played the drums, guitar, and trumpet. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Betsy Billcliff. He is survived by his parents, Paul and Liz Billcliff Brandt of Waynesville; a brother, Paul D. Brandt, Jr., of the home; maternal grandfather, Jack Billcliff; paternal grandparents, Norman and Joan Brandt; and an aunt, Karen Brandt. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, October 29, 2005 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jason Ledford officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 12:00 Noon prior to the service. Memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
