John Bowman

John Lee Bowman, age 69, of Brookside Drive, died Sunday, July 24, 2005 at his residence. He was a native of Blue Ridge, Ga., but had lived most of his life in Haywood County. He was the son of the late Robert Lee and Ollie Faye Davis Bowman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen Stamey Bowman who died in May 2005 and one son, Ronnie Lee Bowman. Mr. Bowman was a retired United States Army Veteran serving in Korea. He was an employee of Ingles, retiring in 2000 with over 27 years of service as the manager of the meat department and was a member of Crabtree United Methodist Church. He is survived by a daughter, Tonia Bowman of Canton; two sons, Pat Bowman and his wife, Karen and Keith Bowman both of Canton; two sisters, Mary Ledbetter of Atlanta, Ga. and Jane Rogers of Canton; three brothers, Bill Bowman of Murphy, Bob Bowman of Canton and Jack Bowman of Andrews; three grandchildren, Amanda Bowman, Hunter Bowman, and Justin Clontz. Funeral services will be at 2:00p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services with the Reverend W.T Medlin and Reverend Kathleen McAbee officiating. Entombment will follow at Crawford/Ray Horizon Mausoleum with graveside military honors. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 13 Brookside Drive, Canton. Memorials may be made to Crabtree United Methodist Church, 5405 Crabtree Rd, Clyde, N.C. 28721.
