John Chambers

John Howell Chambers, 76, of Mills River, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, July 02, 2012. He was born in Haywood County to the late Sam B. and Katholeen Howell Chambers. He was retired from Ecusta, served as a Deacon at Emmanuel Baptist Church and enjoyed vegetable gardening and tending to his apple trees.
He is survived by his wife, Claire Chambers; sons, Steve Chambers (Sharon) and Don Chambers (Kathy); sister, Mary Anna Storm (fianc', Eddie Owen); grandchildren, Jason and David Galloway and aunt, Beatrice Dotson of Kingsport, TN.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 5th in the Chapel of Faith at Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn with Rev. Gregory Bell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 112 Rays Place Lane, Horse Shoe, NC 28742.
