John Chapman, Jr.

John Haywood Chapman, Jr., age 20, died Saturday, July 18, 2009 at his residence. A resident of Haywood County for most of his life, he was a son of John Haywood Chapman of Canton and Tara Danette Mann Chapman of Casper, WY. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George William and Elsie Mann. He was a graduate of Pisgah High School in 2006 and was employed by Unison in Asheville. John wrestled and took machine shop in high school. He enjoyed baseball, fishing, spending time with his friends, and his cars. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Kimberly Renee Chapman of Canton; and his paternal grandparents, Max Haywood and Juanita McFalls Chapman of Canton. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2009 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Bruce Cayton officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
