John Willard Gould, born on January 23, 1953, in Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, September 18,2024, in Haywood County, North Carolina. He was a devoted, father, and grandfather, whose impact on his family and community will be cherished and remembered.
For many years, John served as a Systems Analyst . His professional life was marked by a commitment to excellence and a passion for problem-solving, qualities that endeared him to colleagues and clients.
John is survived by his wife of 13 years, Sandra Hazen. Together, they created a life filled with warmth and companionship. He leaves behind four sons: Cobia Gould of Pensacola, Florida, Kurt Gould (Cindy) of Jacksonville, Florida, Stephen Hazen (Shay) of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Daniel Hazen (Alexis) of Lihu'e, Hawaii. John also delighted in his role as a grandfather to six grandchildren: Aiden and Scarlett Gould and Jack, Hollis, William, and Harper Hazen. The memories they shared will forever be a source of comfort and joy for those he leaves behind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Helen Cobia Gould, who instilled in him values that he carried throughout his life. John was also preceded in death by his sister, Katherine.
In celebration of his life, visitations will be held at Christ's Church in Jacksonville, Florida, on Sunday, September 29, 2024, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm. Another visitation will take place at Pinnacle Church in Canton, North Carolina, on Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm, culminating in a second Celebration of Life at 4:00 pm.
John’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and family, each thread woven into the fabric of the lives he touched. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
