John Howell

John Forrest Howell, Jr., 72, of Asheville, passed away Wednesday, September 2nd, 2013. A native of Asheville, he was a son of the late John Forrest and Mary Fern Martin Howell. Forrest served in the US Air Force and volunteered at the Charles George VA Medical Center for a decade. He never met a stranger and could talk to anyone and loved to share a joke.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Snelson Howell; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Vince Erb and sister, Joyce Harris Warden.
He was loved by many, especially his children, J. Vincent (Carol Anne) Howell, Michael (Dana) Reid, David (Barbara) Reid and Janet Reid (Tony) Bishop; grandchildren, Trevor J. Howell and Shaina E. Lewis; sister, Marjorie (Joe) Stanley and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00PM on Sunday, October 6th in the Chapel of Faith, Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn. Burial will be private.
