John Marks

Waynesville-John Joseph Marks, age 73, of Waynesville and St. Petersburg, Florida, died on August 12, 2007 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native and resident of North Haven, CT, he had lived in Florida and North Carolina in his later years. He was the son of the late John and Frieda Hock Marks. John was a self-employed painting contractor and draftsman. He was of the Catholic faith and was a US Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion, VFW, and Am Vets. He is survived by two sons, Robert Marks and his wife, Susan, of Canton, MA and Gary Marks of Wallingford, CT; two granddaughters; one sister, Freida Halkovetz, and her husband, Edward, of North Haven, CT; and his companion, Christine Osband. Memorial services are planned at a later date in Connecticut.
