John Mullen, Jr.

Waynesville, John Ray Mullen, Jr., age 84, of 146 Locust Grove Drive, passed away on August 17, 2012 at his residence. A native of Alleghany County, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John R. and Mary Stephanic Mullen and was also preceded in death by his son, Thomas Charles Mullen. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps and a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was a self employed building contractor known for his honesty and integrity and enjoyed bowling and golf. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia Poppelreiter Mullen; a brother and sister; his grandson, Thomas Christopher Mullen and his wife, Jennifer; and two great-grandchildren, Brody and Jordyn. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2012 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Morris Thompson officiating. Military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 5202 and American Legion Post 47. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
