John Sidney "Junior" Patton, 64, of Asheville passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016 in his home. A native of Asheville, he was the son of the late John Sidney and Mildred Lucille Murray Patton. A Disabled Vietnam Veteran of the Marine Corps, he continued to serve his fellow soldiers until his retirement from the Charles George VA Medical Center. He had a big heart, filling it up with love for his family, people and animals in need. He read his Bible and lived it by caring for the unfortunate, helping anyone that needed it and donating to several charities for children and animals. He especially enjoyed working as a counselor at Champion for Kids, a boxing camp supervised by James "Bonecrusher" Smith. His laughter, love of music, boxing and movies will be remembered and missed.
He is exactly where he wants to be, with his parents and his son, John Sidney Patton, whom he missed every second.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter that looked up to him and knows he was the best Daddy in the world, Sara Patton (Buddy Morrow); his adored granddaughter, Adalynn Sydney Morrow; sisters, Carol Ann (Richard) Cole, Diane Patton, and Debra (Dave) DeCurtis; many nieces and nephews; beloved dog, Pugsy and rescue dog, Boss.
