John Reeves, Jr.

J. Kindred Reeves, Jr., age 50, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Haywood Regional Medical Center after a brief and courageous battle against cancer. A native of Haywood County, he was a son of Betty Olsen Reeves and the late John K. Reeves, Sr., who died in 1995. Kindred was a self-employed landscaper and was a member of Crabtree United Methodist Church. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 19 years, Vivian Reeves; four sisters, Mary Cooley of Lake Junaluska, Martha Strickland of Burke, VA, Rebecca Pastoor and her husband, Bert, of Lake Junaluska, and Sarah Butters and her husband, Brian, of Buffalo Grove, IL; his dog, Lolita, as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A memorial graveside service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2008 at Maple Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Kip Ray officiating. All family and friends are invited to attend the service. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Mary Cooley, 21 Pruett Lane, Lake Junaluska, NC.
