Waynesville-John Elmer Vincent, age 75, of 63 Birch Springs Road, died on Monday, September 4, 2006. A native of Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Nelson and Mildred Binge Vincent and was also preceded in death by a son, John Michael Vincent. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was one of "The Frozen Chosen." He was an insurance agent for State Farm Insurance for 32 years and retired in 1993. He was a member of the Waynesville Rotary Club, an accomplished horseman, and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Margaret's Catholic Church where he was a member. John was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley Vincent; three daughters, Anne Marie Vincent and husband, Kevin Fleming, Mary Susan Pallotta and husband, John, of Apollo Beach, FL, and Gabrielle Peterson and husband, Jim, of Gainesville, FL; two sons, Paul Vincent of Ft. Myers, FL and Perry Vincent and wife, Roberta, of Zephyrhills, FL; one sister, Katherine Vincent, of Westland, MI; and eleven grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at St. Margaret's Church with Father Frank McGowan officiating.
