John West, Jr.

Maggie Valley, John Edgar "Ed" West Jr., 75, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017 at The Homestead. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late John Edgar and Edith Sharp West and was preceded in death by two sons, Bill and Rick Frizzell. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam Era. Ed enjoyed canning and going fishing. Ed is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Conard West; three daughters, Tammy Noland (Bill), Shay Justice (Thomas) and Tamie Hannah (Daniel); two sons, Troy Frizzell and Stephen West; a sister, Phyllis Grasty (Calvin); nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved companions, his dogs. At Ed's request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood Animal Welfare Association (HAWA), P.O.
