John Yarborough

"Devoted Husband and Father" Waynesville, John Arthur Yarborough, age 72, of Yarborough Street, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at his residence. A native and lifelong residence of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Robert and Laura Bell Parris Yarborough. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Herron; and his two brothers, Willard and Wayne Yarborough. He attended Waynesville Township High School and was a retired Electric Superintendent for the Town of Waynesville with 31 years of service. John had also served as a volunteer with the Waynesville Fire Department for 47 years. He was an avid hunter and antique car collector. John was also a member of the Waynesville Free Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Effie Rhinehart Yarborough; two sons; Daryl Inman and Scott Inman, both of Waynesville; a nephew, James Rhinehart, whom John raised and considered his son, and wife, Angela and children Alecia, Lukas, and Blake Rhinehart; a grandson, Jesse Inman; special friend, Anna Lunceford and special uncle, Tommy Parris; two sisters-in-law, Patsy and Linda Yarborough; and faithful companion, Moe. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Larry Coates and the Reverend Bobby Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Waynesville Fireman's Association, 1022 North Main Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
