Johnnie Kinsland

October 10, 1935 — November 26, 2008

Johnnie Kinsland, age 73, of Old River Road, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late J. W. and Essie Mason Cogburn Kinsland. She was also preceded in death by three half sisters, Martha Kuykendall, Betty Cooke, and Shang Cogburn. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Johnnie spent her life taking care of others. She is survived by a half sister, Elizabeth Wyatt of Canton; two nephews, Hugh Kuykendall and Sam Cooke; seven nieces, Patricia Brookshire, Lillian Creasman, Katrina Cobb, Mary Lou Singleton, Linda Caldwell, Sheila Jones, and Vickie Queen; and caregivers, Anita Hannah, Vickie Allen, and Kay Surrett. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2008, at Long's Community Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Perry Brindley officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Long's Community Cemetery Maintenance Fund, c/o. Charlie Evans, 587 Evans Road, Canton, NC 28716 or to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
