Johnny Arrington

Canton – Johnny Paul Arrington, 76, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020 at his home.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late John Robert and Ruth Coward Arrington. He retired as a contract specialist from NASA. In his spare time and during retirement, he enjoyed gardening and watching NASCAR. Johnny was a faithful member of Beulah Baptist Church. He also devoted his time in serving the prisoners of Craggy Correctional Facility for many years.

He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Joyce Walker Arrington; his children, Steven Paul Arrington and his wife Ginger of Cocoa, FL, Greggory Keith Arrington and his wife Christina of Midlothian, VA, Kristin Paige Beard and her husband Jeff of Carrollton, VA,  Julie Michelle Wellborn and her husband John Paul of Canton, Shannon Michael Sutton and his wife Megan of Canton; one sister, Darlene Hilditch; and six grandchildren, Kelly Melissa Smith, Samuel Caleb Sutton, Jonathan Epperson, Abigail Epperson, Aiden Arrington, and Kelsey Arrington.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 16, 2020 at Beulah Baptist Church with the Reverend Barry Clark and Reverend Dr. Daniel Page officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 pm– 2:00 pm at Beulah Baptist Church.
