Waynesville, Johnny Herbert Dunston, 72, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Mission Memorial Campus.
A native of Anniston, Alabama and resident of Haywood County for 53 years, he was the son of the late Herbert and Betty Dunston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Moody Dunston, who died in 2005. Johnny proudly served in the U.S. Army as a medic during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed passing his time playing poker and horseshoes. Johnny loved spending quality time with his friends who he cherished.
Johnny is survived by his sons, Jeremy Moody (Nicole), of Bethel, Jason Moody, of Johnathan Creek, and Brian Moody (Devon) of Hemphill, as well as several of his dearly loved grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022 in the Waynesville chapel of Wels Funeral Home with Military honors.
The care of Mr. Dunston has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
