Clyde, Johnny Clinton Frady, age 87, of Thickety Road, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at his residence. A native of Jackson County, he had lived most of his life in Haywood County. He was the son of the late John Redwill and Magaline Buchanan Frady and was also preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters. He was employed at Carolina Power and Light for 21 years and was a member of Thickety Baptist Church. Johnny was an avid gardener who loved to fish and hunt. He had a huge heart and would give anyone the shirt off his back if they needed it. He was known for growing bushels of green beans and sharing his vegetables with friends and the community. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Louise H. Frady; his children, Billy C. Frady, and Dianne F. Owen and her husband, Claude, all of Clyde; four grandchildren, Angie Massey and her husband, Dee, Lisa Frady, Sandy Brigman and his wife, Paula, and Russell Frady and his friend, Kim Harris; seven great grandchildren, Chris and Heather Massey, Derrick and Lucas Tom, Hannah and Savannah Brigman, and Clinton Felton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Bruce Cayton officiating. Burial will be at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris and Dee Massey, Sandy Brigman, Russell Frady, Shannon McDonald, Jerry Hoglen, Kenny Green, and Mike Swanger. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
