Johnny Riggsbee

Johnny William Riggsbee, age 64, of the Bethel community passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at his residence following a long battle with PTSD. A native of Orange County, he had lived in Haywood County since 2001 and was the son of the late Jack and Elsie Williams Riggsbee. He was the owner/operator of three convenience stores. John was a proud veteran of the Vietnam Era and his military service career. He will be remembered for his sweet, giving nature, his patriotic spirit and love for his home country, USA. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Catherine Day Riggsbee; a daughter, Katie Riggsbee Jones; four sisters, Jackie Riggsbee Weaver, Cheri Boyce, Jean Turner, and Robin Johnston; a brother, Charles Riggsbee; a granddaughter; and a close friend, Billy Call and his family. No services are planned.
