Joseph Debord

Joseph Daniel DeBord, age 89, died Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at John F. Keever, Jr., Solace Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Nathan Sylvester and Jenny Pressley DeBord. He was also preceded in death by a brother, James and a sister, Christine Gaudette. He retired from American Enka with 43 years of service and was a member of Hominy Baptist Church. Joe was a loving father and adoring husband. He delivered Meals on Wheels for 17 years. He loved music and tuned pianos for people in the community as well as the church. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Laura Crunkleton DeBord; three daughters, Viki Moore (Paul), Kathy Jolly (Thomas), and Joleen Dotson; a brother, Billy DeBord; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, August 19, 2010, at Hominy Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Joe Yelton officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Care Partners Hospice Memorial Fund, P. O.
