Canton – Joseph “Joe” William Ergle, 53, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at his residence.
Joe has spent much of his life in Haywood County and was the son of the late Joseph Arthur Ergle and Mary Bragg Forbes; he was also preceded in death by his beloved stepfather, Lee Forbes. Joe was employed by Evergreen Packaging. Prior to his time with the mill, Joe was a self-employed dump truck driver and owned and operated High Country Trucking. He loved to hand feed his fish cheerios and even gave them names. Joe was an avid outdoorsman cherishing his time in a stream or waking up at the crack of dawn during all hunting seasons.
