Joseph Lokerson

Canton, Joseph Wyckoff Lokerson, age 61, of Little East Fork Road, died Friday, May 9, 2008 at his residence surrounded by his family. Born in Point Pleasant, NJ, he was the son of the late Joseph and Christine Swanger Lokerson. He was employed at Evergreen Packaging for 40 years as a Shift Repair Foreman. He was a loving husband, father, papa, brother and uncle. Joe enjoyed watching his grandchildren on the softball and football field. He served in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Peggy M. Lokerson; two daughters, Kelly Tipton and her husband Jimmy and Leigh Jorstad and her husband, Jeremy, all of Canton; one brother, Arlie Lokerson and his wife, Patsy of Maggie Valley; three grandchildren, Makayla, Kyle and Callie. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Kenneth Rhinehart and Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Morgan, Arlie Lokerson, Carroll Morgan, Brad Morgan, Anthony Greene and Jacob Morgan.
