Waynesville-Joseph Comstock Martin, age 75, of 120 Crymes Place, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 31, 2006. He was born in Burrisville, Maryland, but had lived in Haywood County since 1978. He was the son of the late W.T. Martin Sr. and Eunice Comstock Martin. Also preceding him in death were three brothers, W.T. Martin, Jr., David Hugh Martin, J. Robert Martin and four sisters, Nancy Martin, Marguerite Nason, Naomi Storey, and Mildred Ann Martin. Joe was a member of Francis Cove United Methodist Church and worked with Open Door, Haywood Christian Ministries, and Habitat for Humanity. He farmed for many years with his brother-in-law, Allen Boone. Surviving is his wife of 27 years, Sara Boone Martin; a son, Joseph B. Martin and wife, Teresa, of Easton, MD; a daughter, Penelope G. Martin of Baltimore, MD; a stepdaughter, Melinda B. Campbell of Garner, NC; a brother, Samuel J. Martin and wife, Mary, of Denton, MD; two sisters, Eunice Howard of Denton, MD, Betty Musgrove and husband, Wayne, of Seaford, DE; three sisters-in-law, Patricia K. Martin, Lake Junaluska, NC, Clare Martin of Nashville, TN, and Ruth Martin of Denton of MD; and two grandchildren, April Fuller and husband, Perry, and Ryan Martin. For his many, many deeds of kindness, Joe endeared himself to his extended family, his church family, and the Francis Cove Community. A memorial service will be held at Francis Cove United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 3, 2006 with Reverend Terry Rowland officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church, and at other times, friends may call at the residence. A private family interment service will be held prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Francis Cove United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O.
