Joseph Sales

Joseph Howard Sales, age 77, of Burnette Cove died on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Jonathan Ephriam and Anna Belle Sharp Sales. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Sales, three brothers, Bob Sales, Jonathan Sales, Jr., and Jack Sales; and a sister, Lilly Mae Jamison. He retired from Champion International in 1994 with 28 years of service as a rewinder operator. Joseph loved traveling with JoAnn all over the United States. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. Above all else, he loved his family. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, JoAnn Blaylock Sales; a son, John Sales and his wife, Shannon, of Clyde; a sister, Wendell Bennett and her husband, Tom, of Leesburg, FL; a brother, Roy Sales and his wife, Debbie, of Cincinnati, OH; four grandchildren, Charles Taylor, Nakia Ensley, Kellie Brooks, and Kevin Sales; and nine great-grandchildren, Makala and Blake Taylor, Anna, Emma, and Cora Ensley; Alana and Zane Brooks, and Ira and Joseph Sales. A memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2010, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services with the Reverend Dr. Perry Brindley and Reverend J. D. Grant officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
