Joseph Sisk

December 13, 1933 — January 25, 2003

Waynesville-Joseph K. Sisk, age 69, of Pigeon Road, died Saturday, January 25, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.

He was a native of Haywood County. He had lived in Jackson, Alabama and then returned to Haywood County. He was the son of the late James Grady and Myrtle Faye Frady Siske. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Evelyn Siske.

He was a blue grass musician and he played the upright bass. He was a Marine and served during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sharon S. Sisk; one daughter, Diane Neal and her husband, Joe, of Waynesville; two sons, Steven Siske and his wife Robin, of Fletcher and Neal Sisk, of Swansea, SC; one sister, Melita Anne Gibbs and her husband Jerry, of Waynesville; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2003 at the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes. The Reverend Mark Atkinson will officiate. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Monday, prior to the services, at the funeral home.

The nephews will serve as pallbearers. They are Michael, Keith and Randy Siske, Chris, Scottie and Shane Gibbs.
