Joy Smith

Joy Parris Smith, age 57, of 100 Franks Drive, died Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late George and Margaret Bryson Parris. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Nora Frady and Annette Parris and a brother, Charles Parris. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Robert Ray Smith; two sisters, Karen Saunders of Franklin and Janice Clark and her husband, Larry, of Waynesville; three brothers, Michael "Butch" Parris and Mark Parris and his wife, Marsh, all of Waynesville, and James Parris of Asheville; a sister-in-law, Frankie Kelley and her husband, Dan, of Waynesville; a brother-in-law, William Terry Smith of Waynesville; nieces and nephews, David Kelley and Danielle Owens, Ben Parris, Whitney Parris-Lamb, Michael and Chris Saunders, Gregory Clark, and William Parris. Private memorial services will be held. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721. Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Canton is in charge of arrangements.
