Joyce Clark

"1931 – 2015" Canton – Joyce Hoover Clark, age 83, passed away Thursday, February 05, 2015 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late Garland and Lois Corpening Hoover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Ingrum, who died in 1991; one brother; and two sisters. Joyce was a member of Canton Central United Methodist Church. She loved to play bridge and use to golf at Springdale Country Club. Joyce loved her family dearly, was an avid reader, and enjoyed eating out with J.P. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, J.P. Clark; two daughters, Debbie Allen and her husband, Van, and Donna Stamey and her husband, Greg, all of Canton; one son, James "Jim" Clark, Jr. and his wife, Greta, of Morristown, Tennessee; a son-in-law, Kent Ingrum of Columbia, South Carolina; one sister, Rebecca Baker of Raleigh; a brother, Earl Hoover of Burlington; ten grandchildren, Devan Williams and her husband, Derek, Shanna Allen, Nathan Stamey, Ryan, Hilary, Zachery, and Isaac Ingrum, Brooke Carr and her husband, Tyler, and Trey and Ciera Clark; and three great-grandchildren, Kendall and Abigayle Williams and Savannah Carr. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Canton Central United Methodist Church with the Reverend Paul Brown officiating.
