Joyce Hickerson

Clyde, NC - Joyce Ann Hickerson, age 75, of Lee Road, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Maggie Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Joyce was born in Kanawha County, West Virginia and had resided in Hendersonville before moving to Haywood County in 2009. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Weaver and Evelyn Erdine Hickerson. She worked as a Bank Teller and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville. Joyce enjoyed reading, music and her "Sunday" drives. She is survived by two daughters, Sara Gilkey and Julie Schroer (Christopher) all of Waynesville; a brother, Thomas Hickerson (Melanie) of Flat Rock, NC and two grandchildren, Margaret Michal and James Robert Gilkey. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at First United Methodist of Church of Waynesville with Reverend Sanford L. Giles, Jr. and Reverend Hardy Tippett officiating.
