Juanita Cook

Juanita Ann Sutton Cook, age 78, of Waynesville crossed over from this earthly life to her eternal joy in Christ on June 19, 2021.

Juanita grew up in Haywood County, the daughter of the late Frank Sutton and Beulah Shetley Sutton. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jackie Goodson. Juanita was a proud member of Franklin New Life Church of the Nazarene and was also devoted to Lakeview Church of the Nazarene.

Juanita worked for many years as a teacher assistant. Some of her favorite activities were camping. fishing, line dancing, and going to the beach. She also enjoyed game night and loved being with her dog, Gabriel Jenkins. She had a zest for life and was always ready to go anywhere with anyone. Juanita will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by the pride of her life, her six children; four daughters, Reverend Rhonda Haney, Karen Diaz, Jackie Perez, and Kisha Hall, and her husband, Michael; two sons, Michael Haney, and his wife, Leigh, and Marvin Cook. Also left to treasure her memory are her two sisters, Reverend Janice Ford and Jeaneal Whitted; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Lakeview Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Tim Pullin, Reverend Rhonda Haney and Reverend Janice Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

The care of Mrs. Cook has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes of Waynesville.
