Juanita Kilby

Juanita Pressley Kilby, age 60, of the Burnette Cove community, went home to be with her Lord Jesus, Sunday, February 17, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, born January 24, 1948 to the late Joe and Ruby Rogers Pressley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gwynneth Edwards, and a brother, Billy Joe Pressley. She was a devoted Christian whose faith in her Lord was strong right up to the end, and she was a faithful member of Mtn. View Church of God. Juanita was a loving wife, godly mother, devoted grandmother, and an exceptional loving mother-in-law. She is survived by her husband, of almost 40 years, Jimmy Wayne Kilby; two sons and their wives, Phillip and Alice Kilby of Clyde, and Ricky and Lisa Kilby of Cruso; four brothers and their wives, George Carroll and Patty Pressley of Irving, TX, Wade and Nancy Pressley of Canton, Reverend Ned and Alice Pressley of Whittier, and Reverend Ted and Cindy Pressley of Ocala, FL; four grandchildren, Brittany, Brandon, Zebb, and Greta Kilby; three step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a special family friend, Bill Whittle; and many other wonderful family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Mtn. View Church of God with Reverend Herman Toney, Reverend Ned Pressley, Reverend Marty Pressley and Reverend Mark Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Gwyn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Wells Funeral Home in Canton. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. At other times, the family will be at the residence. The family wishes to express their gratitude to her daughter-in-law, Lisa Kilby, for her love and dedication to Juanita, during the many difficult days of her illness. She was a wonderful care giver. The family also would like to thank the nurses and staff of Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice for their care.
