Juanita Medford

July 20, 1922 — April 18, 2008

Clyde – Juanita Broyles Medford, age 85, of 300 Woodlawn Circle, died Friday, April 18, 2008, at Canton Christian Convalescent Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Arie Scroggs Broyles. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Tom Mason; and two brothers, Gwyn and Porter Broyles. She was the co-owner of Medford Farm Florist for 24 years. Juanita was a member of Clyde First Baptist Church and held a number of church related offices. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Jack Medford; two daughters, Brenda Lindsey and her husband, Carrol, and Gail Mason, both of Clyde; one son, Randy Medford and his wife, Janice, of Raleigh; two sisters-in-law, Edna Broyles of Canton and Nettie Broyles of Minnesota; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2008, at Clyde First Baptist Church with the Revs. Charles Dean, James Parham and Carrol Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. Memorials may be made to Clyde First Baptist Church, 227 Main Street, Clyde, NC 28721.
