Canton-Judith Duckett Howell-64, of 156 Tommy Howell Rd died Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at her residence.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was a daughter of Luther and Miriam Cagle Duckett. She was also preceded in death by a brother Eugene Alden Duckett. She was a member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, George "Tommy" Howell, one daughter Paula Fish of Canton, three sons, Stephen K. Howell of Toccoa, GA, Phillip M. Howell of Baxter, IA and Mark R. Howell of Little Rock, AK, a very special sister-in-law Delia Duckett of Belevedere, SC, one brother Charles David Duckett of Phoenix, AZ, 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2003 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with Reverend Ray Willett officiating. Burial will follow at Sunny Point Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home.
