Judith Diane McFalls "Judy" Oates, age 62, died on Monday, October 24, 2011, at her home. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Beatrice Warren McFalls. She was a former employee of Walmart and attended Bethel Baptist Church. Judy was an accomplished artist enjoying painting in oils, ceramics, and various crafts. Judy's love of her family serves as a great example to everyone in her life. She is survived by two sons, Scott Oates and his wife, Jennifer and Theron Oates and his wife, Julie, all of Canton; a sister, Janice McFalls Camp and her husband, Mike, of Canton; six grandchildren, Brihana, John, Delaney, and Carson Oates, Dakota Bradshaw and Kayla Cothern; and 2 great-grandsons, Hunter Oates and Holton Griffin. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2011, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby and Reverend Gary Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home.
