Judy Long

Judy Sentelle Long, age 86, died Sunday, July 23, 2006, at Presbyterian Hospital of Huntersville. She was a native of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Horace and Flora Shook Sentelle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy John Long, who died in 2000; five sisters, Ruth Robinson, Wiley Baldwin, Kitty Long, Lynne Morgan, and Pauline Goodson; and seven brothers, Dick, Harry, Dugan, Jack, Frank, Fred, and Gordan Sentelle. She was a member of Clyde First Baptist Church. Judy loved to spoil her nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. She is survived by four nieces, Elaine Lindsey and her husband, Bill, of Stanley, Chris Smelcer of Midway, TN, Rebecca Greene of Spartanburg, SC, and Mary Sentelle of Asheville; seven nephews, Rusty and Rick Sentelle of Morristown, TN, David Sentelle of Fairfax, VA, Frank Sentelle of Enka, David Morgan of Fayetteville, GA, Jack Baldwin of Asheville, and Ray Baldwin of Clyde. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Carrol Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Clyde. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at Judy's residence.
