Julia Beasley

November 23, 1931 — April 18, 2009

Waynesville, Julia Pauline Smith Beasley, age 77, of 686 Mauney Cove Road, passed away in William's arms peacefully on Saturday, April 18, 2009. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Frank and Maggie Gaddis Smith. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and an infant son. Pauline was a member of Dellwood Baptist Church and enjoyed baking, cooking, flowers and collecting lighthouses. In addition to her husband of 40 years, William "Bill" Beasley, she is survived by a son, Terry Wayne Beasley and his wife, Vickie of Clyde, a sister, Bertha Franklin and her husband, Londo of Waynesville. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Caldwell and Reverend J.D. Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2009 at the funeral home and at other times, at the home of Terry Wayne Beasley. 793 Old Clyde Road, Clyde. Serving as pallbearers will be Phil and Steve James, Darrell and Cameron Pressley, Charles Wright and Sam Ferguson.
