Canton- Julia Cairnes Davis of the Beaverdam community died Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Henderson County and had lived most of her life in Haywood County. She was the daughter of the late Harm and Jessie Harkins Cairnes and was married to Ray M. Davis who died in 1986. She was preceded in death by 6 brothers, William Crawford Cairnes, Charles Lewis Cairnes, Andrew G. Cairnes, Woodrow W. Cairnes, Harm Jackson "Jack" Cairnes and Bill Cairnes and 5 sisters, Lena Bell Harkins, Ada Matilda McElrath, Jincie Young, Dovie L. Randolph and Daisy M. Ivester. Mrs. Davis was a member of Canton First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 29, 2004 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services with Reverend Alice Day officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
