Julia R. Roberson, 85, of Candler, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016. A native of Asheville, she was the daughter of the late Locke and Clara Jaynes Roberson. Julia was a lifetime member of Montmorenci United Methodist Church and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity for over 20 years. An accomplished painter, she also made the best biscuits in the world.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert R. Roberson, Jr. and granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn Roberson.
She is survived by her grandchildren (whom she loved more than anything), Amanda R. (Danny)Cole of Candler; step-granddaughters, Crystal Menser, of Candler and Megan Barker (Eric Russell) of Tryon; great grandchildren, Kynley, Brodie, Fable, Olive, Zayne, Souyer and Taylor; children, Herb (Tammy) Roberson, III , Susanne Coley and Jason Loftis, all of Candler; and her beloved furchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 23rd from 6-8PM in the Chapel of Faith, Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, August 24 in the Chapel of Faith with Revs. Karen Kurtz and Pat Bacon officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler.
Julia requested that no flowers were to be sent, kindly make donations to either Brother Wolf Animal Rescue or Habitat for Humanity.
